Linnea Fayard was Miss Louisiana 1990, and 4th Runner-up to Miss America 1991. With the scholarships she won in the Miss America system, Linnea graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. A professional entertainer since the age of 18, Linnea has performed all over the country and in Tokyo, Japan. She was a featured performer for the Shoji Tabuchi Show in Branson, Missouri, and also worked as the lead vocalist in the house band at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Hawaii, for two years. She returned to Shreveport with that same group to sing for two more years at James Burton's Rock and Roll Cafe in the late 1990's. From the mid-90's to 2001 Linnea continued to perform in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

 

In 2002, Linnea was named the lead sports anchor for KSLA, Shreveport’s CBS affiliate, making her the first woman to ever hold that position in North Louisiana. In that role, among her many duties, she covered Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston, and LSU’s National Championship win over Oklahoma in 2003. She also had the opportunity to interview such sports greats as Terry Bradshaw, David Toms, Todd Walker, Mark Cuban and many others.

 

Linnea continues to work in television and on stage, while also holding the title of Director of Marketing and Member Relations at Squire Creek Country Club. She has been the commercial spokesperson for local, statewide and national companies, including Tabasco, The United Way, CMS and the State Fair of Louisiana, and also performed the role of host for the television show Horseshoe Fame and Fortune 

 

Linnea and her daughter live in North Louisiana.
